Linette Taylor  is a singer, musician, voice teacher, artist, and composer currently based in Winchester, VA.
Linette will graduate from Shenandoah University in May 2025 with her M.M. in Vocal Pedagogy, concentrating in Contemporary Commercial Music. During her time at Shenandoah, she participated in the 2024 CCM Vocal Pedagogy Institute, studying with some of today's leading voice science professionals. Some of her specialized areas of study included vocal acoustics technology and vocal feminization and masculinization. Previously, she earned her B.M. in Vocal Performance from Houghton University in 2023, graduating magna cum laude with a minor in Music Composition.
Linette's singing career began in choral music and musical theatre, but she has since shifted to singer-songwriter, folk, rock, and pop styles. Her singing is supported by her skills as a pianist and self-taught guitarist. Linette's original songs are noted for their expressive lyrics and explorations of emotions usually kept locked away. Many of her songs address themes prominent in her life, such as chronic pain, mental health, and the female experience.
As a teacher, Linette is interested in helping her students use singing to explore self-expression and emotional healing by inspiring them to sing from the soul, for the soul. She works with singers of all contemporary commercial styles, including pop, rock, folk, singer-songwriter, R&B, and musical theatre, and incorporates voice science and educational psychology into her teaching practice.
